Cameron city is considered as the largest and most discreet of the hill resorts in Malaysia. The city is well located in Pahang's north-western corner, at an altitude of 1,829 meters. The Cameron Highlands is the discovery of a British surveyor William Cameron in 1885. During that period the region was used for tea plantations because of its fertile land.
